National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Isaac Ruto has made a public apology to Nakuru County residents.
Speaking during a tour to drum up support for the Opposition alliance in the region over the weekend, Ruto apologised for campaigning for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto during the 2013 general elections.
The Bomet Governor regretted that Kenyans have been subjected to economic oppression and neglect during the more than four years Jubilee has headed the government.
“I apologise for the problems you have faced for the past four years under Jubilee. I am sorry that I am the one who asked you to vote them,” he said.
The Chama Cha Mashinani leader confessed that he supported the two Jubilee leaders in the last elections for them to be freed from the International Criminal Court (ICC) yoke.
“I saw nothing good in the two but had a desire to have them released from The Hague cases,” the Governor stated.
The former DP’s ally decamped from the defunct United Republican Party (URP) to form his own CCM.
He has now joined hands with Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), and Moses Wetang'ula (Ford Kenya) to dislodge President Kenyatta in the August 8 poll.
Ruto said he is confident that the Opposition will trounce Jubilee and urged Nakuru residents to confidently vote NASA if they want to be freed from economic bondage.
