Kisii County deputy governor Mr Joash Maangi has slammed claims that he is fighting James Ongwae but said that he is closely working with him to achieve their campaign pledges.
Addressing a press conference at Kisii Sports Club on Tuesday, Maangi said a section of Kisii residents were misinformed about the ‘Omogusii unity’ claiming that it’s not a parallel government.
“The Omogusii unity is not a parallel government but a movement that is geared towards bringing the community together after a long time,” he added.
He said he has found a hostile ground wherever he goes as he is called a traitor of the Kisii county government a term he denied.
“I am closely working with Ongwae and I will ensure that we deliver our promises, therefore, I would like to come clear that I am not in any way undermining his work,” he added.
Maangi said that the ‘Omogusii unity’ will go door to door to ensure that every person in Kisii County understands their agenda.
He called upon politicians from the area to stop misleading the residents about the movement that is geared towards bringing development to the region.
