Kiambu governor William Kabogo has insisted that he will trounce his opponents during the Jubilee Party primaries slated for April 21.
“April 21 will be the day boys will be separated from men. I am telling you I will show my opponents dust in the primaries. They better be prepared for a humiliating defeat,” he stated.
Speaking on Sunday when he launched his reelection bid, Kabogo maintained that he was the right man for the job, noting that his administration had undertaken a massive infrastructural development in the county.
“I am sure the people of Kiambu will give me another term to complete the work I began. After all, my development record speaks for itself," he said.
“I have done well in the last four years and Kiambu has in fact become a role model for other counties to benchmark,” he added.
Kabogo further cited the recent opinion poll conducted by Infotrak that placed him ahead of other candidates, saying it was enough evidence that he is poised for a landslide win.
“All indications are clear that residents will give me a second term as evidenced in the findings of the latest opinion polls that put me ahead of my rival,” he said.
He is facing stiff competition from Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, who is also gunning for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.
