Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has dismissed speculations about his intended switch to the yet to be launched Jubilee Party insisting it wasn’t his priority ahead of the 2017 polls.
Momanyi, a Wiper Democratic Party member, has been linked with a move to Jubilee after being seen on a number of occasions working closely with some of his colleagues allied to the government.
But on Wednesday during a funeral ceremony, Momanyi said he was less interested in party politics insisting that he would win from any party of his choice.
“I don’t give parties priorities because I was elected to work for the people. I am only concerned on how to make Borabu a better place than I found it in 2013,” said Momanyi.
“However, I am sure that I will win the seat regardless of the party I will use to seek re-election in the 2017 polls. We should do away with this party politics madness because they end dragging us behind,” he said.
Momanyi also urged residents to choose leaders based on their track records rather than the loyal parties for better development.
“It’s you people who can change this nation by moving away from the party business. Elect people based on their track record rather than their preferred parties and by doing so, we will make huge strides as Kenyans,” he said.
