Opposition leader Raila Odinga's eldest daughter, Rosemary Odinga, says she is ripe to fit her father's political shoes.

Ms. Odinga, 39, on Saturday declared her intention to go for Kibra parliamentary seat in August, a move that has been received with mixed reactions withing the political cycle.

She is set to wrestle out with incumbent Ken Okoth and former aide to Odinga, Eliud Owalo, who has however criticised the move.

"If I say that I will go for Kibra seat will you register as voters? Then I am ready for this seat because you have shown that love to me," she said.

Rosemary added: "I will not let you down because a daughter to a lion is still the lion. We shall fight together and deliver in August."

She joins a long list of the Odinga family members who have ventured into politics among them Raila Odinga, Ruth Odinga, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and Oburu Oginga.
