Budalangi Member of Parliament, Ababu Namwamba has said he won't take part in the ongoing prayers for the Cord MPs arrested over hate speech.
Speaking in Busia on Sunday, Namwamba said participating in the prayer rallies will show that he condones hate speech and ethnic profiling from the leaders.
"Taking part in the prayers will show that Namwamba supports what these people said. I do not preach hate and cannot support anyone who does the same," said Namwamba.
He said that the actions by some leaders will lead the nation to bloodshed when Kenya is healing the wounds of 2007/8 post-election violence.
"If we are not careful, especially when we are nearing the elections, the nation will experience what happened in 2007/8. We must be vigilant and avoid the leaders who are dividing us along political affiliations, tribe and religion. We are all Kenyans," added the Budalangi lawmaker.
He has hinted he might be leaving ODM soon for what he termed as unfair treatment even after being one of the pioneers of ODM. Paul Otomwa has since abandoned his seat as the party vice-chair.
"I cannot be a general and then be given a gun without bullets. When I come to seek your support in a different ticket, please support me," Namwamba added.
The vibrant Budalangi MP has been accused by fellow party members and being termed as a 'Jubilee mole' claims he has refuted. He said he has the liberty to interact with anyone he wants.
