Raila was touring Kisii County for the second time in less than two weeks and seized the opportunity to urge locals to register in numbers.

He said his government will create job opportunities and streamline dwindling fortunes of tea farmers in the region.

"I cannot manage to win if Gusii people do not vote as a block. Your votes are critical especially in presidential elections," he told a huge gathering in Kisii.

Odinga added: "We must vote in large numbers to deny Jubilee another term. Our tea sector is ailing and that could persist if we don't take a responsibility."

Also, Odinga slammed Jubilee government by accusing it of 'sidelining' opposition strongholds in its government appointments.

He was accompanied by Kisii Governor James Ongwae, nominated senator Janet Ong'era and several local leaders.
