Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing him to head Jubilee. Speaking during an interview on Citizen Television, Tuju said that it is an exceptional honor for Uhuru to entrust Raila’s village mate with key Jubilee matters. He also claimed that his home is only 4 KM from Odinga’s residence.
According to Raphael Tuju, the president chose to overcome the normal tribal rivalry between the Luo and Kikuyu communities that date back to the days of Kenyan founding. He said poor infrastructure stall development in African states but ethnicity make them collapse.Tuju urged Kenyans not to burn down Kenya for the sake of nominations.
On Jubilee matters, he confirmed the use of smart cards based on member density in various parts of the country. He said there is a possibility of handpicking candidates in regions that have few supporters. His assurance of smart cards use comes after Sonko’s rant about a plot to rig nominations using the formerly hyped initiative that raised millions for Jubilee.
Tuju assured Jubilee aspirants a free and fair nomination process. One of his toughest tasks is ensuring a smooth Nairobi gubernatorial nomination. The city race has two faction; Team Nairobi led by Mike Sonko and those supporting Peter Kenneth who some view as an outsider from Kirinyaga.
