Dahiye said he does not regret leaving the party led by opposition Chief Raila Odinga.
He pointed out continuous quarrels among top party members as reason for his exit from the country’s largest party going by Parliamentary membership.
One month ago, Dahiye led a delegation of elders from his constituency to State House for a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta where he pledged support for Jubilee and the president’s re-election. Kanu, which he joined, supports Uhuru’s second term bid.
His departure now leaves Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden as ODM’s point man in Garissa, a county where Jubilee is making inroads to influence voting patterns in its favour come August 8.
The outspoken legislator is among the latest elected leaders from North Eastern Kenya to join Jubilee ahead of the August polls.
At the time of his departure, Dahiye said parties constituting the National Super Alliance (NASA) were all ‘confused’.
“ODM which I belonged to, ANC, Ford Kenya and others are still confused,” he said ahead of the naming of NASA presidential flag bearer.
He expressed confidence Jubilee will win majority votes in Garissa and North Eastern region.
