Ongwae speaking at Kisii level 6 hospital on Tuesday where he presided over the opening of the ICU unit at the hospital, said that since 2013 he has a good track record compared to his opponents.

"My opponents are fighting me back with selfish interests. Let my development record give me votes in 2017 elections," he said

"I will be happy to serve my people for a second term to complete a few projects left which may not have been completed by the time elections will be conducted in 2017," he added.

The ODM governor refuted claims that ODM has lost fame in Kisii region instead said that politicians should sell their development records to the people to get elected and not hiding in parties.

"Parties do not elect leaders, it is electorates who decides. I urge opponents to sell their manifestos to the people to seek elective posts in 2017", added Ongwae.
