ODM party leader Raila Odinga has reiterated he did not play any role in influencing the ICC to prefer charges against Deputy President William Ruto.
Raila said the allegations were crafted by people out to ensure he does not get Kalenjin votes during elections.
"I didn't take Ruto to The Hague," he said at Kabiyet Boys High School in Nandi on Saturday during the burial ceremony of former North Rift Kanu chairperson Sarah Saina.
"I was shocked when I heard this."
He said Ruto is his friend and there is no way he could frame him following Post Election Violence that came after the 2007 general elections.
"Ruto was my man and everybody knows that violence broke in Nairobi, Kericho, Eldoret and Kisumu. How could I have framed him? he asked.
"Those who came up with the propaganda were aiming to discredit me ahead of the elections. It was wrong but here I am again."
Ahead of the 2013 general election, there was backlash from Rift Valley following allegations that Raila, who was then Prime Minister played a key role in ensuring the ICC charges Kenyans who influenced the 2007 PEV.
Ruto during the time of his case formed the United Republican Party that later joined Uhuru Kenyatta's The National Alliance to form the Jubilee coalition.
The coalition trounced Mr Odinga's ODM during the 2013 polls.
Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has been vocal over the ICC issue telling Kenyans Raila did not frame Ruto.
A section of politicians in Rift Valley after the collapse of the ICC cases said those who framed Ruto were actually in government.
