Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has dismissed claims that he looted from Mumias Sugar when he was the Company Managing Director.

Speaking on Citizen TV’s JKL show on Wednesday, Kidero said that claims being peddled that he looted Mumias are meant to tarnish his image.

The governor said that he did not loot any cent and said he instead steered the company to success before his exit.

“I did not steal or loot any cent during my reign as MD in Mumias Sugar Company,” he said during the interview on Wednesday.

The Nairobi governor stated that he has made his money by working hard and that at no time has he ever looted or engaged in dubious businesses.
