Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has absolved himself from any blame for the loss of Kitui Senator David Musila during the outfit's primaries.
Musila, who is gunning for the Kitui gubernatorial seat was eyeing the Wiper Party ticket.
He, however, lost it to the incumbent governor Julius Malombe who is seeking re-election during the forthcoming general elections.
Musila later ditched the party, vowing to appear on the ballot as an independent candidate.
But speaking on Saturday during the burial ceremony of the late Mama Alice Musila (mother to senator Musila), Mr Musyoka denied plotting to rig out the legislator during nominations.
He further noted that he and Musila enjoy a cordial relationship as long time friends.
“I never got involved in how our party chose candidates and it doesn’t matter which political party Senator Musila is in, we’ll remain friends and I'm ready to work with him again” he said.
Musila has since resigned as Wiper's National chair.
