Former CIC chairperson Charles Nyachae has maintained that he never referred to Gusii youths opposing Jubilee government as ‘Chibarimo chisaregete’ a local dialect term loosely translated as spoilt mad men.

The remarks he allegedly made in a local radio elicited sharp debate among local leaders with Gusii youths subjecting him to social media onslaught.

But Nyachae in an interview with the reporter on Sunday denied yet again uttering the statement and called for mutual respect and unity among youths.

“I am a man of integrity and respect and no single time have I ever insulted or prejudiced members of any community. We are all equal and I respect that fact. We many differ opinion wise but it has never escalated to the point of insulting youths,” he said.

“We coexist peacefully and that mutual respect must be maintained despite geopolitical differences. Those defaming my name should desist from that and engage in constructive things,” Nyachae, a member of the infamous Otamba declaration said.

He insisted that all Kenyans had a right to support political parties of their choice; adding that his efforts to have the Gusii community united was unstoppable.

“People have political party rights and I have said that for long. No one will be prejudiced because he or she doesn’t support a party of his choice but the unity we are establishing is unstoppable,” he said.
