Immediate former Sofapaka team manager Willis 'Awilo' Waliaula has dismissed claims that he was involved in a match-fixing scheme that saw his side fall 1-3 to struggling Western Stima in Narok.

Waliaula was fired on Monday after a Facebook post he made on Monday.

A section of fans intepretted the post as affirmation to the plot to fix the match.

"As long as they (sic) bring good offer on the table there is no problem," Waliaula posted.

But after the dismissal, Waliaula has come out to clear his name, adding that the allegations are false.

"All these are lies, I am just a team manager, I do not select the team that plays so how can I fix a match?" he asked.

"I was not given a hearing. They have damaged my reputation because as it stands it will be difficult for me to get a job elsewhere. I have a contract with them and they have to honor the contract because the reasons they are giving for my dismissal are ridiculous," he added.

Awilo was appointed the TM at Sofapaka in March 2017.
