Kibera's finest TGBuoy is a source of admiration among the youths not only in the area but Nairobi as a whole.
The young musician has been behind a series of hits that have shaken the airwaves in a trend which projects him into an even brighter future.
In him, one sees a determined young talent that still has more room for unlocking more doors into stardom.
But TGBuoy did not start as a star.
He has a sad story of breaks in his life that eventually helped him become who he is.
He says he was born in a poor family that could not afford the basics for all the family members.
At some point, he was frustrated with life that he lost the meaning of love and relationships.
This, he says, was after his girlfriend ditched him for a more affluent man.
It shattered him to pieces; but there was another good side to it.
The breakup experience was the inspiration behind his latest hit 'Kama Moto'.
"I was in a relationship with a girl I thought loved me and hoped to go far. But she left me. Then another girl later approached me for love. I said no. That's why I composed the song telling the girl to sit down and listen," he adds.
He has tried dancing and acting before discovering his strength in singing.
"Before I started the art of music, I was a dancer and an actor too," he says.
Reflecting on the past, he says socialising with other people in the industry also boosted his first stepping ground in music as a career.
"I used to meet my (current) manager Kassim at events and we would talk over our fates. But them one day we decided to come together and work to make our dreams come true. We vowed to make something that has never happened here in the ghetto," he adds.
