Nyamira County Secretary Erick Onchana has dismissed claims that he recommended the EACC officers to investigate the Health department, a matter that is said did not go down well with the department's Chief Officer Douglas Bosire thus engaging in an alleged fistfight.
During a press conference at Borabu Hotel in Nyamira town on Friday, Onchana said EACC as an independent institution cannot be compromised and that it investigates all departments without any interference from outside quarters.
"The officers have a right to visit ministries and parastatals and do their constitutional work and I did not direct any to the department as claimed," said Onchana.
Either Bosire seconded him by saying the officers have been doing their investigations at the department before, and that even if they could have come, he won't have related the matter to the County Secretary.
"It's hilarious that the political class takes this report to social media with the intention of interfering our working relationship. We have worked with Onchana before as the Chief Officer before his promotion to his current position and we have never had differences whatsoever,"said Bosire.
