Kilifi North Member of Parliament Gideon Mung’aro has denied reports that he secretly met Budalang'i Member of Parliament and former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Ababu Namwamba to discuss plans to form another party.
He said although he has maintained close ties with the Budalang’i MP, the two did not meet when the latter visited Kilifi recently.
"Ababu remains my close personal friend but I did not meet him when he visited Kilifi recently. Those reports claiming that I met him to join proposed Third Force Party are just rumours," said Mung'aro.
Mung’aro, however, admitted being invited to a meeting by his Ganze counterpart Peter Shehe but said he could not attend because he had other functions at Kambe and Chumani.
The rebel opposition MP also maintained that he would not use the ODM party’s ticket to vie for the Kilifi governor’s seat next year.
