Kieni MP Kanini Kega has dismissed claims that he endorsed Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa for Nairobi Governor position.
According to Kega, his pronouncement that Wamalwa vies for the position were personal and that nobody should accuse him for that.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday, Kanini said: "I want to clear that the proposition of Wamalwa for the position of Nairobi governorship is personal, but if it is bought by the president and his deputy and the leadership of Nairobi, so be it."
"I am shocked that when I mentioned the name of Eugene I was told I am endorsing him. I do not even have the mandate to endorse a candidate," he added.
The lawmaker was also quick to scoff at his colleagues within the party who are pretending to be endorsing a particular candidate when their intention is to see Evans Kidero defend his seat.
According to the legislator, as Jubilee, they are ready to support anyone irrespective of his or her tribe as long as they see a united Kenya in future.
He also disagreed with Cord's proposal that the IEBC commissioners should be picked by political parties saying that the electoral body can easily be manipulated by politicians who want to serve their interests.
