Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has said he has no competitor to beat him in the race.

Duale's remarks come after early figures tallied by IEBC showed he is leading against his rival Farah Maalim.

Duale said he did his part in campaigns and the decision of the people of Garissa Township constituency should be respected.

"I am very optimistic. I have done my part. I know I will be the MP. It is a good day for Jubilee," he said.

He had early dismissed Maalim’s candidacy on several occasions and described him as a village politician who was rejected by his people in Dadaab.

“I want to tell him(Farah) for free that he has no votes in this constituency. I will send him on early retirement,” he said last month.

“Nobody will ever hear about him again," added Daule.
