In an interview with CNN's hard-hitting anchor Christiane Amanpour, Kenyatta denied having had any knowledge on the company.

Cambridge Analytica has been accused of using underhand tactics to acquire information on Kenyan voters which help the Kenyatta campaign scheme a smear campaign against his rival Raila Odinga.

"Did Cambridge Analytica help you win the presidential race?" Amnapour asked.

"Nope," Kenyatta responded.

He said that he had more than 700 political rallies during the period and to say that his speeches were written by the company is further from the truth.

"I had more than 700 rallies I addressed. I want you to tell me of which among the speeches I made were the work of these (Cambridge Analytica). Many of my speeches were off the cuff," Kenyatta said.
