[Photo/Daily Nation]As the race for the Mombasa gubernatorial race takes shape, Wiper Party candidate for the seat Senator Hassan Omar has dismissed sentiments that he needs an endorsement from NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga to win.
Omar is competing for seat against incumbent governor Hassan Joho of ODM party and Nyali MP Awiti Bolo of the Vibrant Democratic Party.
"I am here to strengthen Nasa's perspective. He (Mr Joho) has failed to deliver for the county of Mombasa. I do not need to be going round with my principals," said Mr Omar. The senator mocked Joho of staying closer to Odinga thinking that will earn him reelection, Omar asked Mombasa voters not to reelect Joho because of his poor development record.
"Nairobi and Mombasa are among the worst rated counties in NASA's manifesto and that is why I am telling the principals that you cannot change Mombasa without changing Joho," said Omar.
