Kisii County Women Representative Mary Otara has vehemently denied social media reports that she had decamped Orange Democratic Movement for Jubilee Alliance.
Social media users on Wednesday took Ms Otara head on when they questioned her alleged alliance with Senator Chris Obure who had intimated leaving the orange party for a proposed party believed to be a vehicle towards achieving unity among the Abagusii people.
But Otara on Thursday through a phone interview insisted that she was ‘intact’ in the Orange party and dismissed the reports as ‘creation’ of political rivals.
“I am in the Orange party because it shaped my political fortunes. I have never even thought of decamping to another party and my wish is that we strengthen the party and win more seats,” she said.
“The rumor that I have decamped is a creation of my political detractors because I am still intact within the party. Let us avoid character assassination at this time,” she said.
On Omogusii unity, Otara insisted that the region was still happy in ODM and urged community leaders to support the opposition party for prosperity.
“We are happy in the ODM and those opposing the party should tread carefully. The Omogusii family can still be united under the ODM party because it enjoys a good following,” she added.
