Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has said he does not regret the choice of Moses Mulomi as his deputy after the August 8, 2017 general elections.

Speaking after attending a Church service at St John's Busidibu Catholic in Busibwabo Ward, the governor said his deputy is easy to work with and is a man of respect.

"There is a good team at the County from the Governor to the Deputy. I want to assure county residents that the Cabinet I will name soon will deliver on the promises to the people of Busia County. I thank the people of Busia for exercising their democratic rights during the August polls. It is now our task to fulfill what we promised residents. In the next two years we shall be celebrating our hard work," he said.

The governor despite funds not trickling to Counties in the last three months, his government has started on a right note.

"The sugar factory at Olepito has started normal operations while the one at Busibwabo will follow suit soon. Over 5,000 people are set to benefit indirect employment and not forgetting the farmers," he said.

Ojaamong said his government has not failed to pay the salary of any employee of the County.

"They have no reason not to discharge their duties diligently. My work, the DG and the County Secretary Nicodemus Mulaku is to follow on the performance of each department and take appropriate action where they fail on their mandate."

He said County residents should make use of Ward and Sub-county Administrators' and Members of County Assembly to address their grievances since they serve the people at the grassroots instead of channeling everything through him.

In an impromptu fundraiser to help in the completion of the Church, a total of Sh600,000 was raised. The Church was founded by former East African Legislative Assembly Member Gervas Akhaabi's mother Celesiencia Buluma over 30 years ago. The church service was led by Fr Melchzedeck Wafula.
