Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has said he does not regret joining the opposition National Super Alliance in the run-up to the August 8 general election.
Ruto who was speaking in an interview with Citizen Television on Tuesday said he joined the political outfit led by opposition chief Raila Odinga because he believed the coalition had a better agenda for Kenya than what the Jubilee party had."I joined NASA with a clear mind that it presented the best agenda for Kenya," he said.Ruto who has been silent after losing his gubernatorial seat to Jubilee party's Joyce Laboso during the August 8 general election said he will remain vocal on issues that affect the country. He noted that politicians need to sober up, abandon public outbursts and allow President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver on his Big Four Agenda to Kenyans."There should be time when politicians should allow those who have been elected into office to work," he said."Elections are over and we should use the first three years after elections to work towards developing the country. Constant politicking is unfriendly to development," he added. He, however, did not say whether his party, Chama Cha Mashinani is still in NASA or whether he intends to return to Jubilee, the coalition that propelled him to the governorship after the 2013 polls.
