Speaking in Nakuru town on Sunday, the National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse boss said that the new security law sought to ensure that the country’s security is restored and terror attacks are stopped.

"I am asking all the leaders and the Kenyan citizens to support the implementation of the new security law regardless of their political and tribal affiliations," Mututho said.

Mututho lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Joseph Nkaissery to the security docket. He added that the security laws should all the time be reviewed in accordance with the prevailing security situation in the country and in the world.

"When the Americans were hit by terror, there was an immediate response within 48 hours that brought all the legislative agenda resulting in the Patriotic Act. It is through this Act that they are enjoying the security they have," Mututho said.

Mututho condemned the way the National Assembly members behaved during the discussion of the bill last Thursday.
