Jama claims that claims that those linking him to the inferno are playing politics.

Speaking to journalists in Garissa town on Sunday, Jama warned critics against tarnishing his name through malicious claims.

"I am not going to take it lightly on people who want to tarnish my name through malicous accusations," he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

Jama asked his suporters and locals to ignore the malicious claims.

He said that he performed and initiated  key development projects during his reign as governor and he could not turn against the projects.

On Thursday, a section of stalls at the Garissa market were razed down moments after IEBC declared Ali Bunow Korane the winner of the gubernatorial seat defeating Jama narrowly.

Korane claims that the fire was started by politicians who were defeated in the August 8 polls.

Korane who was flying the Jubilee ticket party defeated  Jama in the hottly contetsted gubernatorial brace.

Jama has since disputed the results alleging irregularities in the tallying of the results.

Meanwhile, police investigation into the cause of the inferno is underway.

County commissioner James Kianda says that culprits behind the inferno will be dealt with accordingly.
