I am no prophet but sometimes I have prophetic dreams. My dream is quite similar to Martin’s. Like him, I dream of a Kenya where men and women will be judged by the content of their character and not by their surnames or bank accounts.

I dream of a Kenya where Odhiambo and Akello can live freely amongst Kamau and Wanjiku regardless of the ever changing political tides. A Kenya where the friendship between Mutua and Rotich will have a longer lifespan than 5 years. A Kenya where that friendship is terminated solely by personal differences rather than political differences

I dream of a Kenya with servant leadership, the kind that puts needs of the people above their own selfish needs. A dream that one day I will sit to watch the 9 o’clock bulletin and not hear of billions of public money stolen for private use. I have a dream that one day corrupt officials will be arrested and prosecuted and not adopted and elected.

I have a dream that the haves and the have-nots will be treated equally before the scales of justice. That our judiciary will be filled with men and women of integrity driven by justice and fairness.

I have a dream that one day I will drive my son to school on a super-highway designed and built by Kenyan engineers. That one day I will walk into a public hospital and lack neither drugs nor doctors.

I have a dream that one day our youths will sing a song of employment and opportunity. That one day a graduate will be guaranteed of a job after graduation.

I have a dream that my dream will be my son’s reality.
