Bosire and seven other MPs from both the Cord and Jubilee coalitions were detained for four days in police custody over making hate speech remarks.

And Bosire during a telephone interview with this writer on Sunday said the government had an intention of killing them following the torrid moments in police cells, and insisted that he had forgiven President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government.

“MPs from the Cord coalition were not allowed to take medication or get food in the cells. It took us 24 hours to get solid food which was unpalatable. Uhuru Kenyatta’s government wanted us dead by just violating our basic human rights,” said the ODM national treasurer.

“I have nothing against President Kenyatta and I have forgiven him following the torture I have undergone during his regime. I was kept in a small dark room, where I was expected to take food, drink water and even go for short and long calls but despite all that, I have nothing against him,” he added.

Mr Bosire’s sour relationship with the government started when he defied President Kenyatta’s call to observe a moment of silence in Parliament in honour of soldiers who had died in Somalia during the latter's  State of Nation address in March this year.
