The National Assembly Majority Leader Adan Duale has said that he has nothing to apologise for defending the government of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at a Nairobi hotel on Tuesday during a meeting with editors drawn from various media houses, Duale said it was within his mandate as leader of government business in the National assembly to defend government.
"I have no apologies to make here over my defence for government. Just as Senators James Orengo and Johnstone Muthama defend Cord, so do I when it comes to government," said Duale.
The Majority Leader also rejected claims that he was a hardliner who was standing on the way of dialogue process that would resolve the current IEBC impasse between Jubilee and Cord.
"All that I've been saying is what the President has repeatedly said severally that any dialogue must be within the constitution,"Duale said.
"If the political leadership of Jubilee and Cord agree on something which is unconstitutional, I will shoot it down as Garissa town MP when it is brought to the floor of the house," he added.
He also defended his record as Majority Leader saying that he has led the house in passing more pieces of legislation than any other parliament in Kenyan history.
