Siaya county gubernatorial aspirant Nicholas Gumbo has stated he has no personal grudge with his fierce competitor Cornell Rasanga as it has previously been portrayed.

Local dailies two weeks ago, reported that Gumbo was insulted by Rasanga at a rally in Ugunja town labeling him a product of poverty because his mother 'chose a poor husband'.

The purported insult has caused uproar among a section of Siaya county electorates’, majority of who are paupers.

Speaking at a political rally in Bondo town,  Saturday, Gumbo who is contesting on an independent ticket said he does not hold any grudge against the incumbent governor even after the belittling insults.

He said Rasanga had never experienced the pain of poverty and therefore may not be able to comprehend the magnitude of his own sentiments.

“He should know that 95% of the people he has led for the last four and a half years are living in poverty after he failed to uplift their economic standards,” said Gumbo.

Gumbo pledged to show his ODM counterpart how to run a county government when if elected.

“I will show Rasanga how to run a county government when am elected .In two years he will see the difference between my servant leadership and his bossy regime,” Gumbo said.
