Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has insisted that he has no intentions to reunite with Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the August General polls.

Responding to Kalonzo’s remarks over his defection from Wiper, Awiti said that he made an informed decision over the matter, adding that he will not make a U-turn as speculated.

“When you leave a place or you leave your wife, you don’t need to discuss them. I left the party and explained the reason why. I am not going back,” Awiti said, as quoted by the Star.

Awiti and Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan have been at loggerheads since they both expressed interest in the race to unseat Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

On his part, Awiti claims Wiper Party leader did not take his candidature with the seriousness it deserves as the next general polls draw closer. He also said that Omar endorsed himself for the seat, which made the talks to reunite them useless.

“While in Wiper, I announced my intention to vie for governor only for another person to follow my trail just to frustrate the move," Awiti said. The MP has, however, maintained that he will beat both Joho and Omar in the August elections.
