President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained that his position on IEBC has not changed despite media reports suggesting that by forming a select committee comprising of the likes of Moses Kuria, the president has backtracked from his Wednesday address.

Kenyatta said he acted within the constitution and provision of the standing orders.

"It is regrettable that the media is reporting that I have stood down, the truth is that the position I hold today is the same position that I held yesterday," said Uhuru.

The President was addressing Jubilee Parliamentary Group at State House Kenya, which he chaired jointly with Deputy President William Ruto.

He further maintained: "There cannot be an alternative route to the constitution."

"Dialogue," The President explained, is not about Uhuru discussing with Raila. Dialogue is about institutions discussing with each other."
