Former Kisii county majority leader and Bomariba ward MCA Protus Moindi has defended his development record since he took office in 2013.
He has refuted claims by his opponents that he has done nothing since he was elected.
Addressing mourners in Boisukia village Bomariba ward on Tuesday, Moindi said that his development record is good for the years he has been in office.
"Only blind people don't see the development in Bomariba ward since 2013. Water springs have been reconstructed, roads repaired, improved ECDE classes in each school and still more underway. My opponents should avoid misleading locals instead concentrate in selling their development manifestos to the people," said Moindi.
He urged opponents who are concerned with his private and family affairs to keep off.
"I am afraid some people are trying to play cheap politics with my marital status. I am a man who has rights to marry, why should that bother my opponents? Family issues should be handled privately," he said.
The ODM MCA urged locals to support ODM/Cord ahead of the 2017 polls.
"You all know Kisii region is in ODM/Cord. Vote as a block from this ward in 2017 we elect an ODM president," he added.
