Karachuonyo Member of Parliament James Rege has denied that he has joined the recently launched Jubilee Party.
Despite attending its launch over the weekend, Rege said that he is is yet to join the outfit associated with President Kenyatta, saying he is going to make a decision on his next course of action in the next two weeks.
The lawmaker who has been branded a 'rebel' by the ODM added that he decided to quit the party because he knew that the party would not give him a ticket in 2017.
"I have taken precautionary measures early enough to avoid being caught up on the wrong side of the law that forbids party hopping. Participating in ODM nominations will ruin my political career if I am denied nomination ticket," Rege was quoted by the Standard.
The two-term legislator said that he is yet to announce the seat he will go for in 2017.
He however said that he will declare that in the next couple of weeks.
