Kabogo on Wednesday during the Madaraka Day celebrations at Ndumberi grounds termed those propagating the claims as enemies of development.

Kabogo instead said that his government has utilised well all the development funds given to it by the National Treasury and that it can account to every cent.

“Some people are going around the county telling people that we cannot account to the money allocated to us by the national government, these people only want to tarnish our image as a county,” he said.

Kabogo added that his government has adhered to all financial and procurement regulations as provided for in the constitution.

Last month, the Senate Public Finance Committee accused Kabogo of allegedly contravening procurement and financial regulations.

The committee that had summoned Kabogo said that the Kiambu government used single sourcing in procuring goods in the 2013/2014 Financial Year.

Kabogo however denied the claims saying that they were politically motivated.

Kabogo has been engaging in a heated debate with county senator Kimani Wamatangi over the use of county public funds.

Wamatangi, who is also the member of the senate Pubic Finance Committee claims that the Kiambu government cannot account to all the funds allocated to it.

Meanwhile, Kabogo has urged residents to shun critics questioning his development agenda.

The Governor says that some critics are working hard to discredit his development agenda.

Kabogo said that the critics are feeding people with wrong information about the county’s development agenda.

“My appeal is to Kiambu people to shun leaders who are fond of spreading lies on the activities of the county government,” he said.

Kabogo said that his government has achieved much in terms of development.

He cited infrastructure development, equipping and upgrading of hospitals, youth empowerment as the main areas that has seen success.
