According to Tobiko, he has performed better and criticism facing him are baseless.

The DPP, who spoke during a governance and accountability summit at State House on Tuesday, revealed that his office has achieved a 54 per cent conviction rate of corruption cases.

“I can’t resign because my office has achieved much in terms of conviction bearing in mind that the office is so young. I have taken to court the highest number of people in the country’s history and registered a 54 per cent conviction rate on corruption cases. Why should I resign?" he asked.

Tobiko stated that his office has been able to successfully convict 198 high profile individuals in a period of eight years.

The DPP said that his office will continue to work with other government agencies to speed up investigation and prosecution of graft cases.

“We are working on a multi-agency approach so that we can have these cases investigated and prosecuted on timely basis,” he said.

The DPP also said that his office has never received former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru's investigation file in relations to the loss of the Sh791 Million at the National Youth Service.

He said that his office only acts on probe files forwarded to it by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption (EACC) and the police.
