Governor William Kabogo has urged Kiambu locals to support his re-election bid in the coming 2017 general elections saying he has performed and that he deserves another term to complete development projects he has initiated.
Speaking at Githunguri during the Mashujaa day celebrations on Thursday, Kabogo stated that his government has achieved 80 per cent of the development pledges he made to the locals in 2013.
The governor said that he will be able to initiate more projects and push for service delivery if elected for a second term.
“I know that Kiambu people have seen the development record my government has achieved in the last four years and I am counting n them for another chance come next year,” he said.
Kabogo cited the heath sector as one of the areas where his government has achieved success.
He said that the county government has invested heavily in the heath sector. Kabogo noted that the county has purchased 16 modern ambulances which will be allocated to public hospitals and heath centres across the sub counties.
He added that construction of theatres and modern maternity wings are being done in all public hospitals in the county.
On Infrastructure Kabogo said his government has partnered with foreign investors to ensure that standards of roads are improved.
Governor Kabogo said that all roads will be repaired and renovated by December this year.
The governor cited youth and women empowerment, agriculture and trade as other areas the county has realised success.
Kabogo is seeking re-election in 2017 elections. He faces stiff competition from Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu and other aspirants who have declared interest to unseat him in the coming polls.
Waititu who has already started traversing the county in search of votes says that he is the right candidate for the Kiambu top job.
The Kabete MP claims that Kabogo has failed to deliver services to the people.
A section of MPs and MCAs who are Kabogo’s critics are backing Waititu’s bid for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat in 2017.
