Kalonzo has previously asked Former Prime Minister, who he served as his running mate in 2013 elections, to back his 2017 presidential bid.

Speaking on Tuesday during Wiper Democratic Movement Party National Convention, the Wiper Leader said he had skills and experience to lead the country.

“Throughout my political life, I have always sacrificed for others and I think it is now enough. Time has come for me to take over the country and lead the people to our desired destination,” he said.

“I believe that I have experience to lead the country and it is my prayer that we can rescue this country together. I won’t let Kenyans down if elected as President,” he added.

Kalonzo also took a swipe on Jubilee government leaders by accusing them of being ‘hypocritical’ by failing to deliver their 2013 election promises.
