Nakuru Town East Member of Parliament David Gikaria has faulted the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for the new rules that cupped the campaign money to be spent in the next poll.
Speaking at Afraha Stadium during the International Youths Conference in Nakuru, Gikaria said he will appeal to the parliament to have the new regulations withdrawn.
“I have seen the reason why our opponents wanted the current IEBC exit office. I have been told that I cannot spend beyond three million for campaign in my constituency and I had set aside Sh30 million. I will go to parliament to ensure that those regulations are not implemented,” Gikaria said.
He asked couples to enhance peace in their marriages to avoid the occurrence of what happened to Jackline Mwende whose limbs were cut in a domestic violence.
"I am appealing the married couples to ensure their marriages are peaceful. I was once violent to my dear wife, Mama Wairimu, the first time I broke her hand and another time she almost miscarried my one and only son after I beat her. I vowed never again to beat her and since then I have never," the MP said.
