Speaking at Tendere on Tuesday, Maangi said he is running a campaign that would see more people register as Jubilee members to participate in the party's primaries.

“Jubilee is my home because I believe they have policies that would help our people get out of abject poverty. I am confident that we shall win many elective seats," he said.

"Currently, I am doing membership registration. I will go for primaries and ultimately, I believe I am the most suitable person to run for gubernatorial seat on the ticket," he added.

Maangi is facing a stiff competition from senator Chris Obure, who decamped ODM to Jubilee party a month ago.
