Kiambu governor William Kabogo has said that his love for women is immense. He faulted those who are spreading rumours that he views women as lesser creatures.
He has in the past been accused of belittling ladies and demanding that one must be married to be able to lead others. The governor said that he has nothing against single mothers and fathers. Speaking during a live interview on NTV, Kabogo confirmed that he has female ministers in his County Government.
"I love my mother and all women. There are many great female leaders and gender does not matter but the content of your character," Kabogo said.
The incumbent will battle Ferdinand Waititu for the Jubilee gubernatorial ticket. Waititu popularly known as Baba Yao has been using the gender issue to campaign against Kabogo but the latter has said this is pure propaganda. The flamboyant governor said this a tactic that is only applied by politicians who have sensed defeat.
According to Kabogo, the common mwananchi is very important compared to cheap politicking. He confirmed that he does not have time for propaganda but he will concentrate on what the electorate want. The governor said he will win if the nominations are free and fair.
