Mr Musyoka, who has been under pressure from within the NASA coalition after failing to take part in the mock swearing-in ceremony that saw Raila take oath as the 'people’s president’, denied that he is planning to quit the opposition alliance.

Speaking in Athi River on Tuesday, the former vice president said he is not a selfish leader.

“I stood with Raila in 2013, stood by him in 2017 and I will still support him if need be. I am not a selfish leader. Raila and I are twins and whoever thinks they will cause disunity in NASA should think again,” said Kalonzo, as quoted by the Standard.

Kalonzo caused a storm in NASA yesterday when he said that his planned swearing-in as the people’s vice president would be illegal.

A number of critics have accused him of cowardice. Some had even speculated that he may leave the coalition and find another vehicle to accommodate his presidential ambitions.

“I am in NASA to stay. We only had an issue with NRM but that has been resolved. NASA is a registered coalition of parties and we will remain members,” he added.
