Funyula MP Paul Otuoma has insisted he will be on the ballot box in the Busia gubernatorial race in the upcoming August 8 polls.

The legislator noted whether he is given an ODM certificate or not, he would still represent the people of Busia as their governor after the elections.

Otuoma accused Busia governor Sospeter Ojaamong of interfering with the ODM nominations in the county.

Ojaamong' was declared the winner of the primaries with 92,358 votes against Otuoma's 63,752.

However, Otuoma and his supporters protested the poll outcome forcing the ODM National Election Board to nullify the results citing massive irregularities.

The NEB ordered for a repeat of the exercise in Teso North and Teso South on April 25 but Otuoma has maintained he will not participate in the re-run.

Addressing residents of Busia Wednesday, the Funyula lawmaker told Ojaamong' to keep the Busia ODM ticket.

The MP did not indicate which party he would move to to seek the post or whether he will go it alone. He however noted he supports ODM leader Raila adding that he does not want to divide the Orange party.

“Let it not go down in history that Otuoma divided ODM,” he said.
