The former Commission on the Implementation of the Constitution (CIC) Chairman, Charles Nyachae has asked his Nyaribari clan residents to give him more time to consult widely across other sister clans in Kisii County before he declares his political seat in the forthcoming elections.
Nyachae said he had listened to voices of Kisii residents and was keenly following their feelings on seeking alternative leadership in the County, the reason why he had decided to consult widely before he makes his political position open.
Speaking on Friday evening at Otamba DOK Primary school grounds during a fundraiser in aid of St Augustine's Otamba Girls Secondary School, Nyachae lamented that he thought residents of Kisii County would be served satisfactorily under the new devolved dispensation but it looked like they were in political frustrations due to failed promises from the current County top leadership.
"I have gone round various sub-counties in Kisii County and the story I get from residents are the same with cries of change in the top County leadership. I have listened keenly and I feel something must be done to reverse the situation and assure our people of accountable leadership," stated Nyacha.e
Nyachae who has found a political alliance with Kisii Senator Chris Obure and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi among other elected leaders from the County championing the Gusii Unity Agenda is believed to be eyeing the Kisii County senate seat as Obure switches to Kisii Governorship seat come 2017 election.
