Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said ideological differences with Wiper leaders is what made him bolt out of the party.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader said he had no personal differences with Wiper leaders including Kalonzo Musyoka but only differed on ideas, adding that his ideas were those of helping Kenyans as opposed those of the Wiper party.
"Actually, it is because of moral integrity that I am not in Wiper. I never disagreed with Kalonzo Musyoka and I never disagreed with David Musila. Ours is an ideological difference," he told Citizen TV's Cheche show on Wednesday.
"I took seriously my mandate that I was elected to serve Kenyans, build roads, provide water and to change the lives of my people," he added.
Mutua accused Wiper of sidelining Kenyans and being a party that only discussed politics and not development.
"I was in a party where we never sat to discuss development issues, it was all about politics. It was about who will take what position, who is supporting the party and who is betraying the party. I found out I could not fit in a house where the people I am serving come last," he said.
