Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has told off her political critics saying she performed well as a legislature.
Ndeti said her development track record speaks for itself having implemented several projects when she was the former Kathiani MP.
She said the whole world has seen what she can do for Machakos residents if elected the governor.
Ndeti addressed her supporters at Ikombe Primary School in Yatta, Machakos County on Tuesday.
The fact that she is ‘a child of privilege’, notwithstanding, Ms. Petti Wavinya Ndeti cut her own political path when she joined Chama Cha Uzalendo party in 2007, contested and won the Kathiani parliamentary seat.
She floored the then incumbent MP Peter Kaindi.
The larger Kathiani Constituency had not been sub-divided into Kathiani and Mavoko constituencies then.
Her star began to rise when she was appointed Assistant Minister for the Ministry of Youth and Sports by former President Mwai Kibaki in the grand coalition government.
During her tenure as Kathiani MP, the constituency was ranked the best in prudent management and utilisation of Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
She was credited for building health facilities and more classrooms in schools through the CDF and lobbying for the division of Kathiani and Mavoko constituencies.
“My development record speaks for itself. I have also helped many youths get jobs when I was the Assistant Minister in charge of Youth and Sports. I performed and people of Kathiani know that," Ndeti said.
The scion of an independence hero Ms Ndeti seeks to free the people of Machakos County from poverty and underdevelopment if the election is repeated and she wins the gubernatorial race.
"I believe in myself and all my ideologies to help Machakos people. For those asking about my perfomance records as Kathiani Mp let them ask all over and see records what I did" she added.
Opponents have been attacking Ndeti saying she did nothing for Kathiani locals and therefore can't manage the county properly if she wins the Machakos gubernatorial election.
Ndeti rubbished the claims terming them as bad politics and propaganda by her political nemesis.
