The controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has given his views on the ongoing Sh10.5 billion National Youth Service (NYS) graft scandal.
According to Ngunyi, the 2015 NYS heist was a baby compared to the current scandal.
Ngunyi who said he foresaw another NYS looting scandal said he warned its officials who ignored it.
The second looting, which was bigger and messier has mesmerized everyone in Kenya.
He posted on his twitter handle saying, “When I met the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC), I told them that the coming corruption in NYS will make 791 million look like a Sunday school picnic. It is on record. They did not listen.”
It is ironical that Ngunyi oversaw the second NYS looting scandal after being touted as one of the 2015 multi-million NYS scam suspects.
The 10.5 billion NYS heist would be the biggest ever in the history of the multi-billion youth empowerment programme.
According to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji the NYS scandal was a well-calculated move by top government officials over the past three years. He said, “Many people are involved in this matter. Some of them are very senior government officials.”
