Matayos Member of Parliament Geoffrey Odanga has said that he refused a bribe to ditch Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party after being approached by several intermediaries in the ruling Jubilee Coalition.

He added that he is keen to ensure that the Luhya community votes for the former Prime Minister during the 2017 elections and that they grow from his candidature.

“There is only one home for me and that is ODM. I am happy here and my people have stated that they want me in ODM,” he said.

Odanga accused the Jubilee government of using underhand tactics in trying to sway support their way within the opposition strongholds.

“They are trying to unsettle the region in the promise of delivering development which they have failed to during their first term. What will change when they come back?” he added.

Odanga said that he would lead a caucus of ODM leaders to campaign continuously for Raila in the run-up to the 2017 elections after what he termed as a very successful tour by the Orange party leader last week in the region.
