Kisii county Deputy Governor Joash Maangi publicly apologised for supporting Kisii county Governor James Ongwae during the 2013 general elections.
According to Maangi, the county boss has failed the locals in terms of development despite the fact that he has been called upon to rectify by some of his close allies including him in the past few years he has been in office.
Speaking at Sameta Mokwerero ward on Monday, Maangi said that he has realised his mistake and his is ready to deliver as they work along with Chris Obure as the next county governor to spearhead development.
“I have every reason to stop supporting Ongwae for he has failed to work with me so that we can deliver to the residents and my main aim is to bring development to the locals in the next few years that we will take over the office,” he added.
He called upon Chris Obure not to fail the locals as they have trusted him in many years and ensure that he brings the development they have missed in the past five years.
Obure is set to run against James Ongwae and in what is expected to be a two-horse race.
